I don't really know how to describe this project. I used the patterns from the marker natural pattern project. It deals with light and shadow and the recession of those patterns into space. I mainly only like how the cracked mud part turned out.

For this project, we were suppose to use the colors of a painting and make a painting of stripes...pretty much. My colors aren't very accurate but I'm not very good at the mixing colors thing yet.

For this 2-D project, we had to use natural patterns and morph two into each other.

This is my third painting of my Animal Prom series. I'm not too happy with how it turned out. I might change some things on it in the future sometime.

These are some painting gradations. It's our first painting study which manly helps us learn how mix colors and I guess how to paint. The last one is called ribbons.

This is my 3D wood sculpture. It fades from a dark blue to a light blue, in case you can't tell in the picture.

These are natural patterns for my 2D art class. This is just the first part. The next part, we are morphing two patterns. The top left is cracked mud, the top right is a fossilized sea fan, I think, the middle left is a zebra, the middle right is red cabbage, the bottom left left is wood grain, and the bottom right is marble.

This is a design thing I did for my 2-D class. It is 3 parts, A, B, and C, and part A, is recreated within part B, and part B is recreated in part C.

This is my cardboard project for my 3D project. It's an old cell phone. The requirement was that it had to support your weight, which is what the grid thing is for. This one took about 28 hours to finish. About 15 hours in class and 13 hours out of class

One of my friends and I went to shot some photos at a few places I've been wanting to go to. Our first stop was an old abandoned water slide known as the Zoom Floom.

These are from the fire tower in the Charles C. Deam Wilderness Area.

This is my clay project for 3-D. I spent about 12-15 hours on it outside of class. Including class time, I spent about 24ish hours. It is an acorn that transforms into something abstract in 4 stages. The pictures were taken on my cell phone so they aren't very good.

Here is the completed black and white design thing. I think it looks cool when they are all put together.

Also, if anyone is reading this, which I'm pretty sure no one does, could you let me know I am not posting these for no reason? I know it's not interesting but it's the only art I have time for anymore.

Here is some more 2-D stuff. This is a color study we did about simultaneous contrast. They work better in person, I think, but the colors in the middle are the same color but are suppose to look like the opposite color background. It's hard to explain.

Well, school has started and I am in 2-D and 3-D art so I will post my projects on here, I suppose.

This is my first 3-D project. It is a wire sculpture of a Polaroid camera. The requirement was that it had to have a moving part. As you can see it is pretty bent and distorted (I think that is the right word). It was hard to keep the wire straight.

This is the design part of my 2-D Color and Design class. We haven't done much with color yet. This is only part of the set, once I get more I will add them to it and post it again. This project is about 5 groups which are limited to specific shifting directions and/or a shaping method. The goal is to show the methods you use but still having the strip identity, since they are composed of three black strips. I don't know how well I did but some of them look kind of neat

I'm not a fan of fundamental art classes. There are too many rules about what you can and can't do which isn't what art is about. I guess they are suppose to teach us the basic stuff about making art but I don't like it. I think after I finish those required ones it'll get better. After this semester I plan on taking a graphic design class and a photography class so hopefully those are better.

Photographs 7/16/09

I went to Florida a few weeks ago and while I was there I bought a Canon Rebel K2 for $80 at a pawn shop. These are some picture I took with it in Florida and around my house. They aren't very good but I am just starting I suppose.

I don't know if it's because I don't really know how to use photoshop very well, but I prefer not to edit photos, even though these were on 35mm film, I guess I could have does stuff to the digital copies I have of them but I'm not. I just like the raw, natural look of pictures without editing.

The last two are probably my favorite.
